Doodle Often---Sombrero Man Doodle

Yep, so I'm back with the doodle thing. XD I laugh gleefully at your misery.

This guy I did a while back when I was bored on vacation. I wasn't thinking much of anything, i had a shading ink pen in my hands and just did. I was not finished for five minutes before being promptly informed by my sister that my character was, in fact, quite ugly. Not necessarily a bad drawing, just an ugly guy.

I really like him. Think he's kind of random and ironic. But then again, I have difficulty seeing people as "ugly" or "attractive". I may think somebody has too many pimples or abrasions on their face, or really like their hair, but I am rarely am able to think of people in these more general terms it seems. I don't know why.

So, Yeah. I think I might have more affection for this doodle  than it deserves, but I just thought I might as well post something. So I did. Right here. It's here and...stuff...

Update: ok, to be fair, my sister said on seeing this doodle most recently that it was "neat" and "a good sketch" or some approximation. I was very flattered. And sorry I turned this into another rant about me (that does seem to happen quite a bit, doesn't it? ;P). Im just glad I can look at Sombrero Man and think "hey, maybe I can draw!... Ad I have very little sense of conventional human attractiveness. -_-" both of which are quite nice things to think, actually.

So, about this guy... Well, he doesn't really have much character-wise; just a face and a vague sense of backstory and motivation, really. I'd really like to draw more of him and see if he wouldn't mine being in one of my stories, but I guess we'll have to see...

The inspiration shows up in my doodles and such repeatedly.

Doodle Often---#4 "...hello."

Honestly, I'm not quite sure. But he's certainly friendly, yes?

Doodle Often---the 3rd. "Gonna Fly Now (or Robot Boxer)"

After watching Real Steel, I got to scribbling, and after a time I looked down and thought, "hey, as far as doodles go this isn't half bad."

This is the product.


Yep.



And I guess I have a soft spot for the little music-loving, boxer 'bot, in a similar way as I had towards the movie and it's characters.

So... yeah, this is kind of what I do. 

Doodle Often---the 2nd. "To Owl City"

My second doodle. Yes.
This one turned out better; it seems as though the scanner likes pen much better than pencil.

Hoo...

Aside from God, of course, this one is dedicated to Owl City. I received his All Things Bright and Beautiful CD for Christmas this year, and listned to it while I sketched this. Definetly one of the best gifts I recveived this year. We love you Owl City!

Aside from that, this is a perfectly "normal" and (IMNSHO) adorable cartoon owl.

Doodle Often---the 1st. "Are those...your hands?"

 Happy New Year everyone! 

Well, I was thinking, back in 2011, that posting some work of my own would be nice. But the problem, you see, is  I don't have a ton of art. I guess, in a way, I'm not a "real" artist. What I have is doodles. Tons and TONS of doodles.

So... the logical conclusion...

It's a doodle.



 

This was my first drawing and doodle of the year; I scribbled it at 2-something in the morning after watching the first 31 minutes of Edward Scissorhands (We finished it tonight. So lovely, so sad... ah, I love Edward J) so pardon the mess.

Anyhow...
